Ticking sound

Hi, my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
has a ticking sound, it has the 6cyl.motor
with 219,500 miles on it. When I give it gas
the sound gets faster, not sure where it is
coming from, what should I do or not do?
The oil is full,(actually reading over full)
please help! Thank you

My dad used to use a screw driver the listen to noises. Put it on the engine and put your ear on the screw driver. Or if you have a piece of tubing you can do you same thing. Without hearing the sound, it could be anything. Exhaust leak, valve tick, a/c compressor

My 2003 jeep used to tick as well. Instead of using 10 30, I went down to 5 30, and it stopped ticking.
