2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee runs hot towing a trailer or when a/c is on.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It has a new long block in it less than a year
old. It did it with the old motor also. I've
changed the thermostat new coolant
electric fan works. Im stumped.

is it a big load? towing with a 15 year old car is a sketchy proposition- the thing was not even designed to tow- you will need a new cooling system, one that is high capacity- or a new truck designed to pull that weight-

Have you tried the orange coolant with hoat? Im running zerex g05 orange. I changed everything before realize that green coolant wasn't good enough for what i was trying to do hope this helps you
