2000 jeep grand Cherokee limited will not shift into OD

if this is an electrical solenoid activated unit have someone shimmy under there to see if the electrical connection to it is still alright...these connectors can come unplugged, wires can be severed....lugs can fall off~ the activation of this solenoid is not occurring because the wire had been cut or is unplugged~

Is the fuse blown ?, Is the wire connected to the OD switch at the transmission ?, Does the wire from the shifter conduct electricity along its entire length ?, If you disconnect the switch at the transmission, can you test the shift lever switch for electricity passing thru it correctly ?, Is the transmission "OD operation" switch on the transmission bad (disconnected, rusted, broken) ?
