there are fuses, and there are relays....in most chrysler vehicles (jeeps for sure) the lighting is wired left and right, meaning that if you have a tail light, or brake light go out in the rear, and it's not a bulb. you will notice that the left tail light, and front left parking lights are all out. (blown fuse) now, if BOTH brake/tail lights are out, and the fronts are ok...you'll notice several large black underhood relays. consult your owners manual. and don't be surprised to see one labled (brake llights/ instrument cluster) or something of the sort. again your owners manual will diagram what relays and what fuses are what with a numbering system. the only other option is your brake light switch (located touching the actual brake pedal arm) got bent or went bad...but when you have multiple electrical gremlins like lights/ dash... i'm thinking more relay, or a nasty short.

Im going through this problem myself. I ask you, did you recently change out your head unit (stereo)? I did and now I cant get my running light (all 4 corners) and gauge cluster light to work unless I splice the Illumination wire in with 12v battery connection into the back of my head unit. Only problem is, anytime the ignition is on, so are the gauge cluster and parking lights. Dont you just love Jeeps

I have the same problem... Jeep is in the shop now... Lights all worked fine (to the best of my knowledge) up until they got ahold of it. I'm out $250 so far and still no answer...

My '08 Grand Cherokee is having light problems too. I think it might be faulty/loose wires somewhere, but my front lights work and my rear lights are always iffy. Sometimes my break lights are working, sometimes not. Currently my break lights are fine when my headlights are off, but when the headlights are on I have no lights in the back whatsoever. Making it difficult driving at night.
