fuel pump shorts electrical system

Asked by FogTom Jul 19, 2018 at 05:04 PM about the 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I think I have my hard starting diagnosed to the fuel pump but mainly bad check
valve.  Very vague info on electrical effects of fuel pump, when I do the dance
to get it started, somewhere along the line it kills the clock on the radio and my
trip odometer.  Is the fuel pump shorting my electrical system?

Turns out it was my battery slowly going bad. I'm used to them falling off a cliff this time of year in the heat, you try it one morning and nothing. Nope. Battery failed test at Advance Auto, replaced. 3 solid days now no issues, it wasn't the check valve.
