Looks like mostly only 4.0 starters from mid 90s to 2000s are compatible. 4.7 not looking like it’s gonna be same starters. I’m wondering if there are many starters even left to pull off a Jeep or other vehicles as I know how folks seem to pay cash for used starters.....alternators, etc. ??

No, that starter is not the same and not interchangeable/universal. There is a starter for v6 4.0l and a starter for v8 4.7l.
