sounds like fuel pump. bang on bottom of fuel tank while someone turns eng. over. When you turn the key to the run position, the pump should come on for abt. 3 seconds.
I am aware of the fuel pump coming ON for a couple of seconds when the key is turned to the run position, it happens every time. I guess this means that the Pump is OK??. could it be the fuel injectors, they have never been changed, I don'y know if they can get flowed with fuel, and the when they dry up the engine starts again. I am also guessing that may be something is overheating and when it cools off the engine starts... Again, is only my guess, I know little about this.
By the way Mark, thank you for trying to help, I am trying to figure this out by myself, and see if I can do something to fix it without spending a great amount of money that I don't have at this time. Thank you again.

just because the pump comes on, doesnt mean its creating pressure. have you ck'd for codes? the crank position sensor is a weak point on these vehicals. Ive seen them go bad and not set a code. They are kind of a booger to replace. Its on the top of trans. bell housing, lt. side.
