Why does my Jeep have no oil pressure?

Asked by Jett Oct 25, 2020 at 03:02 PM about the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Light to check gauges came on as soon as I
started the engine. Low oil pressure reading.
Checked the oil and other than a little dirty, the
level looks fine. Would help to run it and warm it up
to see what happens but concerned that oil is not
reaching the engine and I don't want to further this
situation. Any advise would be so appreciated.

Probably a malfunctioning oil sensor. They trigger when the level in the sump drops to a dangerous level. Since you checked the level and it showed in the good range, it should be safe to drive to buy a part or get it fixed.
