Won't start after running out of gas

Car was running fine till I ran out of
gas then I put gas in it now won't
start I put gas in the tube that comes
from the filter an it started then
started puttering an died now won't
start still

When the car ran out of fuel it likely caused the fuel pump to overheat and either blow its fuse or fail internally. Since you can run it with an outside source of fuel (starting fluid or fuel in the intake tube) the rest of the car is most probably ok.
