I have a 1998 Audi A6 Quattro and after awhile of driving my oil light comes on and tells me to check the oil level.After I get up to 45 mph and then it goes off,then when I accelerate it comesback on

No James you are correct for oil pressure but this is oil level, read the codes on the dash panel to See if the oil level sensor is damaged, there should be a code and check if the oil level is correct. Also if there is sludge in the crankcase that could cause a false reading, check that also.
