More of comment, than question on a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII.
The cruise control rocker switches on the steering wheel have small lights inside for night visibility. They are not LEDs but fixed very small blubs that can not, stress NOT, be removed and replaced when they burn out. And they do burn out. Given the 16 year age of these cars, it is very difficult to get the full switches in the correct color to match the factory originals even off wrecks. But you can get used switches on line - e-Bay for example - in any color. Then you very carefully open up the switch you need the light for - R or L - and take out a small circuit board which plugs in and has the fixed light on it. You do the same for your car right on the steering wheel, no need to remove the switch from the steering wheel, and snap it back together. What you have to be careful about it to release the plastic snaps on the top of the switch with the flat head of a screw driver so as not to force it open and thus break off the barb that clicks the top on to the bottom. Anyone with questions on this, feel free to e-mail me at jporrico@outlook.com. Of course the filament is not new but should last for some time and gets round the switch housing color issue.
