Battery light won't go off

I replaced the alternator and the battery and the battery light won't go
off. When the positive cable is removed the car dies.Lincoln

You never ground à power wire to do a full field test you put 12 volts + positive to the field and it should engage the charging system !!!

What relay makes battery light come on an the heater system shuts down than it come back on an when you cut car off the battery drains on an 1992 Lincoln town car there is an black box behind glove box
