did 1999 lincoln towncar 220 H.P have defective composite air intake manifold???

Does anyone out there know if the 1999 Lincoln towncar cartier with the stronger 220 horsepower engine have the defective composite air intake manifold which became A recall/reimbursement through A class action lawsuit????

I would check with your Ford dealer, if your specific vehicle has been listed for a recall, they will be able to pull it up by VIN number. If your vehicle has not been listed, it does not have the defective part and no action is necessary.
if its plastic at the front near thermostat housing it will eventually crack from the heat,I have put on a few of these over the years,before the recall,yours is the right year model.
They all had poorly designed air intakes. At first Lincoln was only warranting the models with the livery package installed. Eventually, someone brought it before the courts and Lincoln agreed to warranty all of them. But, if you bought the car used it may have the new air intake already installed. The difference, if I remember correctly, has a metal neck where the radiator hose attaches to the air intake. This is where the cracking happened because of the difference in temperature between the coolant entry point and the rest of the air intake.
BTW, they all have the same engine, some models have a quicker differential ratio, such as the grand touring models. Don't know much about Cartier models though, I've never owned one.
