What tool do I use to remove the square nut/screw on the engine cover of my 1999 Lincoln tow car

Ford refers to it as a nut and it secures my engine cover. It is plastic and
I don't know how to remove it wit a conventional tool.

1.4 " drive socket wrench, add extension

Finally I found that the end of an extension as the gentleman mentioned, whatever dimension (trial & error), fit into that thing and so could turn it loose.
