speed but slow up

I have a 99 lincoln signature town car it has a little
ober 120 thousand miles on it and while i was
driving it doing good at first but then after 3 mins
of driving it didnt wont to go over 40 no matter how
far i pushed the gas pedal down it wasnt going any
faster it actually slowed up then after 3 to 5 mins it
would pick up speed

Check engine light? How did the gas pedal feel when accelerating? Did the engine rev to high rpms? How is the tranny fluid?
Its good i went and got an oil change so that all fluids can be checked but i was driving a little better but it did it again so i went and got a fuel injection and it was driving a little better it went to 55 i dont know cause it havent been driven in over a year and ya the light is on but when i took it to the auto store it said something about a leak
And when im trying to see what i could do on the high way i had to pull over but it pulled a crazy hill 3 times and changed out like it should have
Leak? Did the code say evap emission leak?
i had a similar problem and it turned out to be a slowly dying fuel pump, this was after a lousy mechanic and muffler shop said it was my cat converters, had them replaced but that did not fix the problem.
