Car dies under a load....could be a lot of things. Is the check engine light on?
There are no lights on it all started with my exhaust sounded loud I found two gaskets were the pipes join together are leaking got stuck in the snow yesterday and it just has no power to get out of the snow it bogs down when it’s in neutral Or park it idles fine
Hmmmm.....when you mentioned exhaust, the first thing I thought of was clogged exhaust, like the catalytic converter came apart and is plugging the exhaust.. I had a similar problem years ago with a Monte Carlo. Is there a white residue on the tailpipe? If you bang on the exhaust, do you hear a rattle from inside?
Well right now I’m dealing with subzero temperatures so I can’t get underneath it now Yesterday I did stick my hand at the back of the exhaust and there wasn’t much coming out of it but then again it is leaking out of those two gaskets I was thinking maybe plug converters
Ya, it could be leaking from those gaskets because it's plugged and pressure needs to go somewhere. I'd also check the air filter box. In cold weather, mice can move in and set up a house overnight
I found out what it was on my 99 Lincoln town car it was my traction control For some reason When the tires would spin in the snow it would lock in the traction control and that would cause the car to decelerate Bog down. Once I got it out of the parking lot took it for a drive on the road as soon as the Traction control light shut off The car ran great
That's what traction control does removed per from the slipping our spinning wheel just press the button to turn it off it's on the glove box but don't forget to turn it back on
