seatbelt light

seatbelt light stays on sometime after I drive for a while and get out then restarte it the light will go out.  what would cause this is there a relay for the seatbelt or a sensor in the seat controling the seatbelt light

I believe there is a switch in the seatbelt buckle. It is probably either bad or the contacts need to be cleaned.
