I have Audi A8, Battery keeps discharging, located in trunk, but won't open without electric power

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When the Battery goes flat (Located in the Trunk), the trunk will not open.  How does one jump start the car in this situation? are there additional jump starting terminals on the car and where are they located?

There should be a positive terminal located under the hood. Usually you will have to hook the negative lead to bare metal on the engine as a ground.

In a 2006 Audi A8 there is no Positive Terminal under the hood. It is way under the car on the alternator. A pain in the A**. Therefore take your key, above the license plate on the trunk lid there is a key hole that you insert the driver key and manually open the trunk. remove the right passenger trunk interior piece which is easy and behind it is the battery. You put the negative booster cable on the steel rod coming off the block to the upper left side of the battery. Not on the battery itself but a block terminal off the negative side of the battery. Follow the wire and look for the shiny 1/2"x 2: long steel post. Then attach the positive booster cable end to the red Positive battery connection right on the battery. That should be it. You can trickle charge the battery this same way.
