Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 Town car 4.6; starts right up, idles fine, no mis fire, accelerates in all
gears. When engine is warmed up however it hesitates badly upon
acceleration making the use of lower gear, passing gear, to accelerate.
Doesn't stall, idles fine when sitting or driving. Please don't state the obvious
answers that would be given for a stalling or rough idling engine. No
mechanics nor blog answers have been correct, so far. Good luck

How many miles on the vehicle? It is possible that all the coils need replaced and that they are shorting to ground when the engine is put under a load. If the vehicle has more than 100,000 miles since the spark plugs have been replaced replace them and consider the coils.

Also sometimes simply removing the coils, cleaning the coil boots and applying dielectric grease will resolve the issue. Many times this will occur and the check engine light will NOT be lit. Certainly you could have other issues.
