Why won't the car start sometimes, but will at others?

Asked by Sean Nov 04, 2012 at 10:41 AM about the 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sometimes, when I turn the key, nothing happens at all.  Then I will re-turn the key and the car will start.  The battery is checking out fine, I replaced the alternator about 2 weeks ago because it was not charging the battery.  Any help please?

Also check for grounding issues. the older models tend to have this problem once they reach a certain age. ( lol mostly the 80's models )
