1994 Grand Marquis running rough after replacing camshaft sensor

My car wouldnt start and an "expert" online was walking me through a bunch of ignition /
electrical checks. I replaced a relay, checked fuses, etc. My neighbor said to check thhe
camshaft sensor. I replaced it and now it starts great, runs lousy. Doesnt want to shift out
of first very easy, but eventually will. Has a small backfire noise coming from underneath,
and a rich gas smell. Could I have accidentally disconnected something?

No I didnt. I heard I should replace both, but couldnt find where the crankshaft sensor goes.
