Heater core replacement

Is there a way to swap out the heater core on
my 1996 Mercury grand marquis without
removing the dash assymbly?

I don't think it is possible. My database doesn't give a removal procedure on your heater core. Youtube has removal procedure for 97 vehicle, the video was for 97 mercury gm. They took the dash apart, should be similar to yours. Sometimes, if you don't need the heater, you could reroute heater hoses and bypass the heater core, allows to drive the vehicle. If you live in an area where the winters are cold, sooner or later, you will need the heater. Just my opinion.
