If you are referring to the ignition lock cylinder and key. The key will have to be programmed to the vehicle. This requires the car being taken to a Ford Dealership service department. Some locksmiths do this procedure, but I would never let a lock smith try to program a key to my car unless I was acquainted with his proficiency. Also I would recommend getting a spare key or even 2 as this misadventure will likely cost you a few bucks.
In addition removing the lock cylinder without a key will be difficult. Call your local Ford dealership service department and they can give you some idea of cost and what is necessary for you to do. Also a locksmith may be able to remove the lock cylinder for you.
Did you buy a new ignition cylinder just because you lost the key? You can get a key made for your existing lock cylinder, that would be a lot cheaper than replacing the cylinder and STILL having to have a key made/programmed. Follow Bob's advice, take it to the dealer.
No the switch locks but to turn it on it won't unlock. How do you program the new lock if I buy it on ebay?

You can't take it to Ford unless it's 10 yrs old or newer or they delete all info for all models! Thanks for nothing Ford!
