2000 Grand Marquis AC issue

Asked by TheMan3030 Jul 03, 2017 at 11:39 AM about the 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

AC runs good then seems to overload and shutdown.
The only reset is to remove battery to reset.  What should I
be looking at and what am I resetting?

Removing the battery / disconnecting it does NOT reset the AC. Whats the low side/ suction PSI reading? Whats the high side / pressure PSI reading? without this info you can't diagnose the AC system

While this may normally be true, the AC will operate just fine for a couple of days and then suddenly blow only hot air. The only way to get the AC working again is to remove the battery for a couple of minutes.
