Can i put a 5.0 motor in a 2001 mercury grand
marquis an what all will i have to do ?

Not easily. You are better off to put the 4.6L SOHC Modular engine in it which is the one it was built with. There are just too many computer and wiring issues to make this a sensible swap.

If you are asking about the old 5 liter engines it would be a downgrade. The new one are good but you would have too many problems trying to do the swap. I would hop up the 4.6 if I wanted more power.
