2001 Mercury Grand Marquis hard to start after multiple stops

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis with about 120,000 miles on it. It starts fine 1st thing in the day but if I have to make multiple stops it gets harder to start each time, until I need to pump the gas to make it start. Next day, it will start fine again 1st time. Could it be the fuel pump relay? Or something else?

a fuel pressure test would help pinpoint if the fuel pump is failing

I had the same issue on my 01 so I changed the pcv valve located on top of engine opposite of where you put the oil in also added a new air filter runs solid
