Power window motors

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

L/F and R/R power windows stopped working. R/F
and L/R still work. I googled the fuse panel and it
shows 1 fuse for all for windows. What can cause
this issue.

Probably the window motors within the doors will need to be replaced. They weaken over time and stop working. If you are mechanically inclined, most are not hard to replace and cost less than $50 at a generic parts store or on-line store.

Unlikely that both window motors went out at the same time. One day they were working and the next they weren't.

I had a similar problem with my 2003 Grand Marquis. The car only has 18,000 miles on it. It's like new. Last week the drivers and the passengers windows stopped working at the same time. Neither front window will work from the drivers side switches or the passenger side switch. I bought a new switch panel for the drivers side and changed it. That did not solve the problem. You're right, I only see one fuse for all the windows. I know both window motors could not have just stopped working at the same time. I'm perplexed!
