we recently acquired a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. We soon noticed there was never a rear window wiper manufactured for the car. Why would that be? Seems like a pretty basic piece of equipment, no? It has a rear window defroster, but that's it. Thanks

Most vehicles that have rear wipers are hatchbacks like SUV's, station wagons, crossovers, and 2 door and 4 door cars with a full back that opens. A Grand Marquis and most sedans where the trunk is it's own separate compartment will not have a rear wiper. There are some sedans that have them but it's uncommon.
