Motor head

Asked by Henryc10 Sep 10, 2016 at 08:51 AM about the 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT Spyder

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My friend overheated his car to where the car
turned off on him in the middle of the parkway and
the car wont start back up. I checked the spark
plugs for him and there is oil in the sockets where
the plugs go. I figure he needs a new head but i
need more info about it. Help is much appreciated!

@tennisshoes is there any repairs to that or best chance is to junk the car or change motor?

I just want to throw my 2cents in. I bet if you did a compression leak down test. You will find many if not all the valves leaking. Over heating these motors are its death. Cheaper to find a good used motor and have it installed than having the damages motor repaired. I see that the car is getting older so you may what to find a new car. Take into account and you put 3000 into its repair and next week some one hits you and their insurance company will only want to give you 900 for the whole car. Just thinking out loud
