how to replace the starter on a 99 Montero sport

My Montero Sport is not starting first i thought it was the battery so got a
new one of those, now it sounds like the starter might not be good
anymore. i know it's under the passenger side but i just want to be sure on
how to go about replacing it, ill be purchasing a new one to change it but
we have to do the work ourselves and i have no clue how to start went to
youtube but they dont have any videos on this.

First thing you do is disconnect the battery. Then jack up the car and put jack stands under it for your own safety, then just have at disconnecting the starter. When reattaching the wires, make sure they only touch the terminals they go on, and do not over tighten these nuts. Tighten the mounting bolts up good thow.

You failed to mention that you only have about 1/4" of room to work with for each bolt!! Took me an hour with conventional sockets. Makes sure you use ratchet wrenches. Seriously, without removing the exhaust pipe, you have zero room to twist a bolt. Good luck wedging it out through the other crap in the way. Pain in the ass and a stupid design!!!
