Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 montero sport 4x4 i had a friend do an engine swap - all is running but AT will not
move the vehicle - dash lights indicate its shifting. AT Fluid seems slightly above the hi
mark. What do I do to determine the cause? What could be the cause? I know for a fact it
was working before the swap.

did they chip the flywheel when they put the engine in it will shift if the vacuum lines are right but if it is a rear wheel drive your propeller shaft might be broke is it FWD or RWD or AWD

not on the flywheel though? you are talking about an internal transmission issue - wouldn't that make some noise?
