Check Engine LIght - Circuit O2 sensor bank2
Asked by MonteroTN Apr 09, 2010 at 10:38 AM about the 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport ES
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
According to OBD scan it says bank 2 sensor 2 which was the downline sensor has been replaced and the code cleared however each time I start the vehicle the light comes back on. Flipped sensors to see if any other code would come up but no change.
Any ideas?

Replace your catalytic convertor. The downstream HO2s is only for catalyst efficiency.
Thank you I will give that a try. The shop thinks it is a computer problem. I will report back as to what the issue was once I find out and it is corrected
Well I got a direct bolt on replacement for the 2003 Montero from Eastern but no change the light still comes on after turning off the car and clearing the code. THe catalytic converter was 125.00, O2 sensor was 89.00 and light is still on and can not go through emmissions.
I'm having the same problem!!! Gonna change spark plug amd wires when o change the timing belt amd water pump. If that doesn't fix it then I will look in to oxygen sensor and cat. But I think it has 2 cats front y pipe and a rear one?
