RPM's

Asked by Suzanne Nov 03, 2014 at 07:47 AM about the 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport ES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Three weeks ago I had the timing belt replaced, spark plugs changed, new plug wires,
new belts and the alternator was replaced yesterday.  I noticed yesterday when
driving about 35 MPH, the RPM's went up to about 4000 then dropped to about 2000.
This morning on way to work, I noticed when I stop, the RPM's drop below 1000.
Should I take it back to mechanic and have him check it?  I'm a single Mom and
really can't afford anymore repairs to the car right now.

Yes. Go to the mechanic tomorrow right after you vote.
