Why want my 2003 montero sport start. The fuelpump want come on and i got no spark.

2 days ago the alternator and a.c. belt both broke and got tangled around the crankshaft pulley. I replaced both belts and the car ran fine. The next day the car stops on me in the middle of the street. I can`t hear the fuelpump come on when i turn the ignition switch, but i pulled it out and checked it with a hot battery and it works fine. Can anyone help me

check fuse for fuel pump and is I a distributor type ignition system take the distributor cap off and clean the rotor button and the points and replace the plugs
