How do I un-do a fan that's been wired straight through the battery?

Asked by Judith Mar 20, 2014 at 05:42 PM about the 1994 Pontiac Grand Am 4 Dr SE Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The fan stopped working on my '94 Grand Am, and instead of checking it out and repairing it, my mechanic just ran the fan straight through the battery, with a switch inside the car that I have to keep turning on and off. How do i undo what he did? There are wires everywhere under my hood!

U can get someone who knows how to undo it from that switch and run it to the ignition fuse inside the fuse box and it will come on when you turn the key on and off when turned off but make sure the positive wire goes to the fuse box and the negative gets grounded to the frame of the car really good.
