thermostat

went to change the thermostat and there was none there. I bought one and it wont seat into the housing. the thermostat falls into engine block. first why wouldn't it have one to begin with and second what the hell am i doing wrong when trying to put new one in.

thats different i have never herd of that man but i knew when a engine runs to hot they take it out so antifreze is always run threw the motor but thats a problem to cause then the antifreze cant stop and cool down so really it gets hoter and hoter so i dont know how to help u sorry man
If I am not mistaken, certain GM 4 cyl engines used a two piece thermostat housing. one side is the adapter for the engine, then the thermostat sits in the adapter, then the thermostat housing sits on top of it followed by the hose? If I am not mistaken!
Is the gentleman said before I got the same car no thermostat in my car and we're the last gentleman said it goes right there so too poor thing he's right but that that thermostat Falls up in that house and just like my buddy said first of all
