1997 am Pontiac

My ignition switch was getting hard to turn on now
it won't turn off its one away from off so I
unplugged my battery now when I plugg it back up
its still on but it won't crank all the way up or turn
off

You can try spraying some WD40 in and around the switch no promises but it may loosen it up but I still would recommend what Tom suggested.
