I have a 98 Grand Am. How do I replace the rear brake cylinder.

they tend to rust in place , try prying a little on each side

its obviously rusted in, just hit it with a hammer. one good hit to the top, it should pop right out

Tap it with a hammer to break it loose. On 92-95 models, the wheel bearing must be removed. I can't confirm this on 96-98 but I assume it's the same.

you might have to loosen the hub a little. if its just stuck us a pry bar and pry it upwards.

Best removal aid for rusted in parts is 50/50 mixture of acetone and automatic transmission fluid. use spray bottle to coat connections, or a small paint brush for areas hard to reach. Amazing mixture, out performs pb blaster, and every other solution I've tried in past
