engine swap ideas

Check some Pontiac forums, I highly doubt it though, the Grand Am is set up for FWD. The 350 V8 would not fit as that is used in RWD applications. I personally would not invest any big money in a 99 Grand Am except to keep it running till you can get something newer and nicer.
The problem is there is a large amount of work required when you replace a different size engine in a vehicle. Motor mounts, exhaust system, transmission, emissions, gauges, wiring, etc. All of this needs to be figured out. If you are paying a garage to figure all this out, it will be a very expensive endeavor.
