i have a 99 Pontiac grand am se and if i let off the gas it dies any ideas......

take a look at your EGR valve to make sure it's operating correctly. take it to your smog guy if you don't want to get your hands dirty.

this device is supposed to divert exhaust gas into the intake manifold on deceleration, if it sticks, you'll only get exhaust gas...real bad. could be the ghost in the machine-

I would guess a vacuum leak. Maybe a crankshaft position sensor. Any codes? What engine?
