How much radiator fluid should the reservoir hold?

Asked by babygirl2018 May 11, 2018 at 07:14 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car does NOT over heat.  After driving for awhile, I stopped and added a gallon of antifreeze.  I saw it in the reservoir, closed the cap.  Drove 5 miles. stopped let the car cool for an hour.  When I checked the reservoir there was no fluid in the reservoir.

If your radiator is low on coolant, it will keep sucking coolant from your reservoir. You'll have to keep adding coolant until it's no longer sucking it from the tank. Once it's holing coolant, there should be 2 markers on your tank the level should stay between. If it keeps sucking coolant with no resolve on holding, check your hoses and radiator for any leaks.
