Trac light off then on, thermostat shoots up then down, cool air, then hot air out of the vents, its been burning some coolant and oil. Are my heads going out?

Well temp changes like this usally mean air in the system. So you could have 1 of 2 things happening here 1 could be a head gasket leack which being a pain is fairly easy to fix the other is eaither a warped head ok a cracked block. it is most likely a bad head gasket.
