Factory radio

Asked by Jim Jan 20, 2018 at 08:08 PM about the 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: General

I forgot to disconnect the negative battery terminal before removing and then replacing my
factory radio and now I have a short circuit that is blowing the fuse so that I don't have any
instrument panel gauges and I don't know what to do to fix it.

I would poke around at my workmanship. You may have just reconnected something wrong or left a wire strand exposed and shorting to ground. Also, is the radio on the same circuit as the instrument cluster? Might be 2 separate issues.
