2002 Pontiac grand am

Asked by GuruRQWZ9 Feb 11, 2020 at 09:39 AM about the 2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Pontiac grand am runs rough and sounds
like the exhaust is misfiring. There are slight delays
and sounds like the exhaust skips. What are some
issues it can be? I heard might need new spark
plugs and maybe new oxygen sensors. What’s your
thoughts? Thanks

The noises are probably misfires. When was the last time that the car has had a thorough tune up? Might be wires, plugs, dist cap, rotor, etc. First, have the car's trouble codes read and go from there. (probably an O2 sensor is not needed.
