Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I swear this vehicle has more issues I
have already replaced the timing chain
I've already replaced the strut mounts I
have to have alignment done and wheel
bearings replaced and now I think that
my fuel pump has went out but here's
what happened I went to leave for work
today and on my way to work I looked
down and noticed that my security light
was on it was not flashing it was just
solid. It did not seem to cause any
issues while driving down the road I got
to work and I shut my car off and I
came back out an hr later and the car
started just fine and of course the
security light was not on and then
proceeded to go to the store and I got
out of my vehicle after shutting it off
and was inside for like 15mins. Started
the vehicle again and it had no issues
and the security light was not on it did
not sputter it did not do anything I then
came to a stop sign and the car
seemed to sputter and then just shut
off but when it shut off the first light to
come on was my battery light and then
the security light it was just solid then I
got the car off the road and the officer
that tried to help me said that he
couldn't hear the fuel pump turn on I
then had somebody else the pressure
that was coming out of the valve and it
seemed to B ok. I then had to have the
car towed back to town and after $150
later they just now got to looking at it
and they said they got the vehicle to
start but the fuel pump would turn on
and then now it just shuts off now it will
not come back on is this a security
issue or is this the fuel pump or is it the
fuel pump fuse or relay Maybe? I really
don't want to stick any more into this
vehicle I'm not really for sure why this is
doing it all at once I need help. I just
don't understand why the security light
would come on after I've started the car
and while driving down the road but it
doesn't do it when the car is turned off
and then started again it doesn't stalled
then and my step dad said that they got
it running but it only ran for like 10
seconds and then it shut off.. my
stepdad also tried to check the coil
packs and they seem to be okay I just
don't understand it

I know that when I first got the car back I felt like something wasn't right going down the road I would go up a steep hill and it felt like the car was revving at 4000 RPMs or 5000 RPMs and then it would finally shift. I don't understand that what could that be from failing or a faulty fuel pump. Sometimes when I start it and I go to put it in reverse or drive and I still have my foot on the brake I feel like my whole motor is going to jump out of my car. It has never done this before and it specially never did it before I got the timing chain replaced and people keep telling me that the car just wants to go and of course when it is in gear is the only time it makes this vibration noise or it acts like there is a problem. But as soon as its in drive its quite.. Maybe it's all in my head but before I posted on the site and somebody told me it was time to get a new car I don't think so I think it's just time to figure out why the heck Pontiac won't help people or why they won't put out a recall specially on the passlock security issues. I really wish I went to school to be a mechanic because this is ridiculous I have taken it to a GM dealer in not much more they can tell me except my car is fine... no it is not something is obviously going on it won't start. They said bcm looks fine. maybe it's misfiring.. maybe the passlock system is locking me out? could that be the problem and causing my car to stall. Can the security issue be misdiagnosed as fuel pump or am I just losing my mind it probably is my fuel pump but I just want to make sure . It's just weird that the security light only comes on solid when I'm driving down the road it is never done before but it has however done it before trying to start the car and it doesn't allow me to start it and I have to do the 10-minute restart I'm really really really confused someone please help me

Maybe fuel module . you described a lot of stuff makes it a wide range answer one symptom at a time then you relate what could also be happening.

My 1999 Grand Am did the same thing, twice! The first time it was the wiring around the ring that holds the fuel pump inside the gas tank. That metal ring thingy. The 2nd time it was the fuel pump fuse. Security & battery warning lights will throw u 4 a loop though.
