Can’t reach back spark plugs

Asked by Devin Aug 15, 2020 at 06:20 AM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can easily reach the front spark plugs but for the
back, my socket won’t reach the plug entirely to
start loosening. I’ve tried extensions but haven’t
tried reaching from underneath vehicle yet.

You need to roll the engine forward. Set the parking brake, put the transmission in neutral, and remove the upper motor mounts. Pull the engine toward the front of the vehicle and secure it. Now you can get to the back plugs. Hope that helps! Jim
