Car won't start

Asked by Cpetit3 Oct 01, 2018 at 11:25 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I also have a 2004 Grand Am with the 3.4 v6.  I
have full battery power and all lights on dashboard
all light up.  I went to start it and didn't hear the
starter engage at all.  Could it be a starter,
solenoid, or could it be something else?

Be sure there isn't any corrosion that is preventing the full battery capacity from being delivered when you turn the key. Lights, while a good indicator that you have battery power, take very little current flow to turn on. The starter, however, places a significant drain on the electrical system. Curious though, where did you measure your "full battery power" and what was the reading?
