Aftermarket stereo

If I install an aftermarket stereo (head unit and
speakers no amp or subs) do I need to also have
my antenna connected to it? My antenna recently
broke and I was going to put in a new stereo
system. My head unit has xm radio built in as well.

Only need the antenna to pull in radio stations. The cd player will work just fine.
So I can still use the xm radio and the Bluetooth/usb fine without having the antenna?
If that stuff pulls it off the internet then sure.
What would be the internet source?
I'm not sure I just bought a head unit that has xm radio on it I'm not sure if it needs to connect to the antenna or not
I am not sure on that either. You couldn't ask the people who sold it to you? What about the directions? I am not up on gadgets but know what is that called, I-Pod you can hook that up without the antenna. I am not up on that xm radio, but I would think that Radio is a key word so then you would need the antenna. Why don't you replace the damn thing?
The people at Best Buy today were absolutely no help at all I had to ask another customer about it. I actually just looked it up I need to get a new antenna put in which is what I'm going to do on Saturday then install the stereo on Sunday.
There problem solved. The antenna dose not cost that much. Enjoy, and a Merry Christmas to you.
If I remove a factory stereo from a 2001 grad prix will ot cause the car not to get fire or cause it not to start?
