wide open throttle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

what would cause a w.o.t. condition at start?  put new ecm in. what sensor or circuit controls this condition? the car is undriveable because this occurs every time and wont idle down.

Your engine speed is controlled by the air control valve that bypasses the throtle blade. If it were stuck/broken it could cause that kind of symptom. Is the MIL(engine light) on? If it is, I would have it scanned to get the codes off of it. They could tell you more of what the problem could be.

Andrew8195 Thanks for reply. Borrowed an obt diagnostic tool, and its showing not connected, so I cant pull the codes.
