Hello, I replace / rebuild the GTP's stock rotors with Bosch Quietcast rotors and the matching... CERAMIC Bosch pad set, be sure too inspect the calipers closely; boots, pistons, and guide pins. This is a solid upgrade for a few $$ compared to standard Chinese made $28-32 dollar rotors or "cheap" brake pads.
Unless you plan to actually drive your Grand Prix in a Grand Prix, any brake pad and stock spec rotor you buy will do just fine. What you won't get by buying the cheapest imported junk you can find is longevity. Stay away from things like drilled rotors. They look cool, but are prone to cracking, at least the lower priced ones are. Factory brake systems are actually well engineered so exotic high end brake systems are really overkill unless you're into serious performance driving. Buy mid price or better parts from any auto parts store and you'll be fine. As has been said things like properly operating calipers are very important too. Uneven pad wear is often a sign that they are not operating properly anymore. Again, any medium priced rebuilt caliper will do the job just fine.
